Timothy Henry Morgan's Obituary
Timothy, affectionately known as Dad, Tim, Timmy, and Paw Paw, was born and raised in San Francisco, California. Throughout his life, he resided in Oakland, Berkeley, Antioch, and other cities around the East Bay. A die-hard Bay Area sports enthusiast, he proudly supported the Oakland (Las Vegas) Raiders, Oakland A’s, and Golden State Warriors. He also enjoyed spending time at Golden Gate Fields, reading and watching documentaries on Black history, and savoring good food.
Timothy graduated from Galileo High School in San Francisco, CA, in 1966. He often reminisced about his accolades and achievements in basketball and track and field, as well as his friendship with the late O.J. Simpson. He later attended the University of Phoenix. Over the years, Timothy made meaningful connections in various roles: as a yard supervisor at Emerson Elementary in Berkeley, a residential counselor at a male youth group home, a custodian at Contra Costa College, and finally retiring from Diablo Valley College.
Timothy was the epitome of an entrepreneur and consistently encouraged others to follow that path. He emphasized the importance of education and creating multiple streams of income for economic advancement and freedom. He was the owner and operator of his own restaurant, the CEO of Old School Player’s Club —his prized apparel line—and a frequent vendor at the Berkeley Flea Market.
He was also an active member of the governing body of Prince Hall Freemasonry in Oakland, CA, serving as Past Worshipful Master of the W.C. Anderson Lodge and Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Stars, Basheba Lodge. Spending time with his family and witnessing his legacy grow was his favorite pastime.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Geraldine Morgan; daughters: Jacqui Morgan, Dr. L. Renee Lama (Thomas), Tamera Morgan, and Sadia Morgan; grandchildren: Shacori, Dewight, Samera, Ciera, Jeson, Marcus, Kira, Tahj, Tamar, Layla, Jevyn, Isabella, Adriana, and Karis Dai; great-grandchildren: Kamani, Khalil, Aarahje,Kamari, Riley, Kea'mori, and D'reya ; siblings: Ezekiel Archie (Mary) and Carol Ann Bryant ; Aunt Bobbie Jean Hudgins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and chosen family. To know him is to know that he never met a stranger and everyone was family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy G. Correa Woods Morgan and Henry Tenny Morgan, and siblings: Rosemary Johnson, Kathleen Collins, and Joel Morgan.
Timothy passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on August 12, 2025, after fulfilling 77 remarkable years of life. His infectious laugh, animated storytelling, and one-of-a-kind peach cobbler are just a few of the many things his loved ones will cherish forever.
