Thomas Dulaney's Obituary
Thomas Stewart Dulaney, Age 87, of Hercules, CA, passed away June 3, 2021.
He was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on July 31, 1933. Thomas graduated from the eighth grade in Oakland, California. He began his career working as a Merchant seaman moving on to the Longshoreman Local 10 for 21 years working in the Washington, Long beach, San Francisco and Oakland ports.
He was married to Carol Dulaney who preceded him in death in 2008.
Thomas had a passion for Jazz music, Thoroughbred Horses, home cooked foods and his granddaughter, Megan Dulaney, who he affectionately called “Meggie Meg”. He was a skilled craftsman making custom walking sticks that led to him being know as the “Stick Man”.
He was survived by his son Michael Stewart Dulaney, granddaughter Megan Simone Dulaney. Nieces and nephews Keith Allen Dulaney, Kenneth Allison Dulaney, Marcella Linda Dulaney, Donald Lee Washington, David Maurice James and Aijai Delores Anderson.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Chapel of the Chimes,
4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, California 94611, Monday June 28, from 1pm – 2:30 pm.
Followed by a fellowship at the Claremont Club and Spa, A Fairmont Hotel,
41 Tunnel Road, Berkeley CA 94705, Monday June 28, 3pm – 5pm.
