Thomas "Tommy" Barron's Obituary
Thomas “Tommy” Barron was born November 23, 1956 in St. Louis MO. In Hayward, CA on June 2, 2025, he began his journey to the Spirit world to be welcomed by the ancestors, including his mother Fern, grandmother Ada, and ceremony dad Calvin Magpie Sr.
Throughout his youth and his adult life, he enjoyed sports and music, leading him to coach youth sports teams and join rock bands, most often as a lead singer. He devoted his work life to supporting people navigating substance abuse and particularly dedicated his efforts towards championing youth sobriety. He worked throughout the bay area as a substance abuse and youth counselor until his recent retirement.
Recognizing people's hearts and centering their humanity was a gift he shared freely with those around him. Above all, Tommy was a dedicated member of the Native American Church and Teocalli ceremonial communities. He prioritized ceremony and prayer, and gave full testimony to the power of prayer in his life and in the life of others.
His services and celebration of life are planned to take place at the Teocalli en Aztlan ceremony grounds in Gilroy, CA on July 4, 2025 from 10am-2pm.
