Terry Tatum's Obituary
Remembering... Terry Tatum was born October 23, 1954 in Oakland, California to the late Ben & Minnie Tatum. He was the third of four children. He graduated from Patten High School in Oakland, CA in 1972. He later attended Patten Bible College for one year. For the last ten plus years, Terry managed a thriving auto detail shop in Oakland, owned by his brother, Mike Tatum. He was a devoted and loyal worker and was loved by all the customers and employees. Terry gave his heart to the Lord at an early age and was a member of Christian Cathedral for many years. He later renewed his vows to the Lord and attended Acts Full Gospel Church in Oakland. During his most recent time of illness, Terry drew even closer in his relationship with God and was at total peace and tranquility in his soul when his spirit transitioned. He loved his family and friends. He had the biggest heart, often putting the needs of others before his. There was nothing he would not do for those he cared for. Terry had a meek and kind spirit; he was good-natured, loved to tease and laugh and had a nickname for everyone. He was a good listener and easy to talk to. Throughout his illness, he NEVER complained. Terry's hobbies were reading, especially mystery thrillers, bowling and working out; he was also a 'true-blue' Raider fan. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his only sister, Lily Jean Tatum, two brothers, Alfred Ray Tatum and Michael Anthony Tatum; sister-in-law, Shirley Tatum; favorite aunt, Rosie Lee Kilgore; nephews, Damani Tatum, Michael Tatum & Lonnie Braddon; nieces, Shannah Tatum, Mikeliah Tatum, Sihina Taylor and her husband Rob Taylor; great nieces and nephews, Jason, Zicari, Diamond, Marquis, Cecilia and Minnea; god-children, Danny Hogg, Jr., Martha Hogg-Murphy, Davina Hogg; fiancée, Renee Lipsky; best friend, Anthony Baca; and a host of other friends and relatives.
