Sydney King Leung's Obituary
Sydney King Leung was born in San Francisco, CA, on January 18, 1956, to Chuck Ming & Yee Har Leung (both now deceased). After a valiant 17-month battle against bile duct cancer, Syd passed away in Richmond, CA, on December 20, 2023, at the age of 67.
Syd attended several San Francisco elementary schools before going to Marina Junior High, where he met many of his oldest & closest friends. He graduated from George Washington High, City College of San Francisco, UC Berkeley with a BS in Business Administration, and Golden Gate University with an MBA. Syd worked in banking (Bank of America & Golden State Sanwa Bank) & telecommunications (PacBell, later SBC) during his career. His life’s hobbies and passions were cycling, basketball, judo, Hawaiian living & tennis. He was also a lifelong devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers, the Golden State Warriors, and the San Francisco Giants.
Syd was married to his best friend, Kim, for 41+ years. He is survived by Kim, son Tim (Melody), granddaughter Aria, son Nick, and sister Elaine (Wally).
A celebration of life event will be held on a date to be determined.
