Stephen Anthony Bruno's Obituary
Stephen Anthony Bruno passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 in Hayward after a short illness. He was born in Oakland, California on August 15, 1955 and grew up in Alameda. Stephen was preceded in death by his loving mother, Charlotte and supportive father, Anthony Bruno.
Stephen loved music, art, skateboarding, and nature. He graduated from Alameda High School in 1973. After his high school years, Stephen worked for many years in the Fremont Safeway warehouse. He later worked for Safeway's Tracy warehouse location as well.
Whenever possible, Stephen would be outside, enjoying nature, riding his skateboard or bicycle on the flat and fast Alameda streets and sidewalks. Stephen later moved to Oakland where he lived for a number of years in the care of the Dimond Care facility; special thanks to the wonderful staff members of Dimond Care for their years of faithful service to our Stephen.
Our dear cousin is survived by many friends and relatives, including his cousin Michele, the sister that he never had. A funeral service will be held in Stephen's memory on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Chapel of the Chimes at 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA 94611.
