Stephanie Miles' Obituary
Stephanie Miles was born on May 29, 1948, to Otha and Jerry Landers. She was the second oldest of seven siblings. Stephanie graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland, California, in 1968.
After high school, she pursued her passion for modeling by attending the John Robert Powers and Barbizon School of Modeling, both in San Francisco. She even appeared in several local commercials promoting Barbizon.
Stephanie had a strong work ethic and a fulfilling career. She worked at the Social Security Administration and Dreyer’s Ice Cream before joining the Oakland Unified School District, where she ultimately retired.
Her greatest joy in life was raising her two children, Veronica and Rodney. She instilled in them the values of love, perseverance, faith, and the importance of having a personal relationship with the Lord. As she grew older, her faith deepened, serving as a guiding light in her life.
Stephanie was a devoted member of Praise Fellowship Christian Church in Oakland, California, under the leadership of Pastor John Clark Jr. She found strength, comfort, and a supportive community in her church family.
Family was at the heart of everything Stephanie did. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Whether celebrating the holidays, gathering for summer barbecues, or simply enjoying each other's company, she made every occasion special with her warmth and love.
On the morning of Friday, February 7, 2025, Stephanie was called home to be with the Lord. She leaves behind her loving children, Veronica Jefferson and Rodney Smith; three grandchildren, Ilia Smith, Mia Smith, and RJ Smith; and one great-grandson, Yazari Albro. She is also survived by her five siblings: Paula Reed, Portia Carroll, Porter Clewis III (Sharon), Patricia Clewis-Jones, and Phyllis Clewis-Taylor, along with a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
Stephanie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
