Stacy Williams' Obituary
Stacy Williams, 53 of Oakland, CA passed away from natural causes on August 22nd, 2018. He was born on May 24th, 1965 in Joplin, MO to Marion and Brenda Williams.
Stacy moved to San Francisco in the late 1980’s. He worked various jobs after coming to San Francisco which included bartending at several bars, one of which was Zeit Geist, San Francisco. In the early 1990’s, Stacy attended Laney College in Oakland, CA where he took classes in stage crafting. Subsequently he joined the Local 107 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, its Territories and Canada. Stacy worked on several movies filmed in the Bay Area and many other local venues. He mainly worked at the Oakland Coliseum and Oracle Arena. He loved creating the pyro-techniques for the Golden State Warriors games. He took much pride in his work and loved his many Union brothers who were like family. He was an avid fan and supporter of the Golden State Warriors.
In the late 1990’s he met Tashya Brooks of Berkeley, CA and together they were blessed with their daughter Katiri whom he has always loved and adored.
Stacy is survived by his daughter Katiri Williams of Berkeley, CA; stepson Paolo Brooks of Berkeley, CA; stepdaughter Raven Ioneh and her son Theryn of Berkeley, CA; his father Marion Williams and wife Beverly of Houston, TX; his mother Brenda Williams and Alexander Lo of San Bruno, CA; grandmother Margie Fenix of Joplin, MO; brother Robert Troy Williams of Nashville, TN; sister Steffani Tindall and husband Anthony of Springfield, MO; nephews Peyton Turner of the US Navy; Caleb Turner of Springfield, MO; Sayer Tindall of the US Navy; Trevin Tindall of the US Air Force; Aunt Margaret Chitwood and husband Kenny of Oskaloosa, IA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition, he is survived by his ever faithful friend, companion, and beloved dog Leeloo.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Marion and Leafa Williams and maternal grandfather Buss Howell, great maternal grandmother Eva Hoffman, great uncle and aunt Albert and Louise (Aunt Sissie) Childers and Clyde & Irene Massey.
A private family service will be held Wednesday, August 29th, 2018.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his many Union brothers for their kindness and help during this time of sorrow. Stacy was loved, and will be missed by many people. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to local ASPCA in Stacy’s honor.
