Sioum Gebeyehou, a beloved husband, father, and respected member of the Oakland community, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on January 20, 1939, in Ethiopia, Sioum’s journey carried him across continents, where he built a life rooted in hard work, integrity, and devotion to family. After immigrating to the United States, he pursued a career as a professional engineer with Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). His dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on colleagues and the communities he served, ensuring safe and reliable energy for countless families.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sioum was cherished for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those around him.
