Shigeko Mizuki's Obituary
Shigeko Mizuki completed 82 years of life early Thursday morning, February 1, 2007. A nisei, Shig lived with her mother in Oakland all her life. Having re-established their lives after several years in a World War II detention camp, Shig was held in high regard by well-known San Francisco jewelers for her abilities as a pearl stringer. Her kind, perceptive nature drew to her many long-time friends who now miss her deeply. She is the last in her immediate family of this generation. She leaves a sister-in-law and three nieces and their families in Japan as well as a nephew and a niece and her family in California. A memorial service and reception will be held on February 5, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at Chapel of The Chimes, Julia Morgan Chapel, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland 94611. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Buddhist Church of Oakland, 825 Jackson Street, Oakland, CA 94607
