Sherman FongMarch 22, 1931 ' February 5, 2012Walnut Creek, CASherman Fong went home to be with the Lord peacefully on February 5, 2012 in Walnut Creek, CA. Sherman retired from the Alameda Naval Air Station in 1985 as a Civilian Electronic Technician and worked part-time for East Bay Mail since 1988. He is survived by his life-long partner and spouse, Anne D. Fong, children Gregory of San Francisco, Martin of Walnut Creek, and Christopher of Walnut Creek, daughter-in-laws Lillian of San Francisco and Elizabeth of Walnut Creek. Sherman is survived by 4 grandchildren that he dearly loved, Alec, Kelsey, Vanessa and Victoria. He is also survived by his 4 younger siblings, Fremont Fong of Hayward, Betty Chang of San Francisco, Miriam Wong of San Francisco, and Darwin Fong of Moraga.Visitation is scheduled on Sunday, February 12th from 2:00 ' 4:00 pm at the Chapel of the Chimes Oakland (4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA). Memorial Service and Interment is scheduled on Monday, February 13th at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of the Chimes Oakland.In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Chinese Independent Baptist Church (Building Fund), 280 Eighth Street, Oakland, CA 94607 (www.cibc-oakland.org), or the Mount Hermon Christian Camps (General Fund), 37 Conference Drive, Mount Hermon, CA 95041 (www.mounthermon.org).
