James W Findling
Hane Family,I trained at UCSF in the Metabolic Research Unit from 1979-1982 and Sats was a wonderful mentor. He taught me how to measure cortisol/ACTH. He was such a wonderful man with a great personal story. I loved him. I have had a wonderful career in Milwaukee and still do research in Cushing syndrome. In a couple of weeks, I am giving a talk on my journey and search for the Cushing syndrome and I will be including Sats and his pictures of his salmon swimming upstream (from his post-doc at Stanford) which he shared with me 40 years ago. I just went on line to find a picture of him and just realized that he died. Please accept my belated condolences and prayers. He was a gem!
