Sandy Xie's Obituary
Sandy Z. Y. Xie, “Sandy” to her friends and families, passed away at peace with love ones on March 29, 2019. After a courageous fight with cancer and enduring complications, Sandy is now reunited with her creator.
Sandy was born and raised in Canton, China. She’s married to Wing B. Fu, the love of her life. Their daughter Ellen is married to Wail Poon, and they have a son named Alex. Together, the family just celebrated Sandy and Wing’s 50th wedding anniversary last year. Sandy’s older brother Gui Seng preceded her in death. Sandy remained close to her niece Wei Jie. Sandy’s also survived by her sister Carol, her husband Simon, and their two daughters Aileen and Agna Mung. Sandy adored her families, and she loved her home. Sandy had also committed to follow Jesus before she finished her walk on earth.
Some of Sandy’s hobbies included listening to classical music, traveling around the world, pampering her cats, going to school, and helping people at the homeless shelters. Sandy loved gardening. She took great pride in her flowers. It took patients, perseverance, and love to grow a garden. She always said, there were beauty, satisfaction, and peacefulness to see the results of her labor grow and thrive.
Sandy loved living. The good, the bad, the sweet, and the bitter… She’ll take them all in, make lemonade out of every sour situation. The Chinese Cultural Revolution deprived her the chance to go to college; nevertheless, Sandy enriched her life with Chinese and World Literature, classical music, and various life experiences. Sandy lived through different chapters of her life. She had worked as a teacher and a business manager when she was living in China. After moving to the U.S., she worked as a housekeeping clerk until she retired ten years ago. She did not have an easy life, but she made it abundant. She’s relentless, yet content, and she treasured everything and every moment she had to live for. At the end of the day, she would always be home and have a smile on her face.
