Sandra Denise Dennis' Obituary
Remembering...
Sandra Denise Dennis was born on September 20, 1959 in Bastrop, Louisiana to Geraldine Fitch and James Johnson both who preceded her in death. Sandra was the second eldest of eight children and the eldest of three daughters. Oldest Christa Davis preceded her in death. Sandra attended Bastrop High School in Bastrop, Louisiana, where she excelled as a Softball athlete and Cheerleader before she graduated in 1977. Once she relocated to California in 1978, she enrolled into Laney College where she studied Business Administration. She worked at various businesses throughout the Bay Area such as The East Bay Skill Center and Nelson Construction.
Back in 2006 Sandra learned of her father James passing in Houston, Texas and when she flew there to lay her father to rest, she met and fell in love with her husband Jim Dennis. After meeting Jim, Sandra came back to Oakland and told her family “I went to bury my father and found my husband and I’m moving to Texas.” She packed up and never looked back. They have been together for 18 years and have been married for 17 years. Jim and her dogs Teddy and Gracie were her world, and I know they will miss her deeply.
Sandra was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, and friend and had a special place in everyone's heart. Although she was known to speak her mind to get her point across, she definitely ruffled a lot of feathers. But nonetheless she had a good and generous heart. She was opinionated and headstrong but loved her loved ones unconditionally. She was full of life, loved her BINGO and had many friends throughout East Oakland where she called home.
Sandra leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her husband; Jim Dennis of Slidell, LA; her six siblings Stewart Williams of New Orleans, LA; Frederick Baker of Sacramento, CA; Shelia Davis of Pittsburg, CA; Robert Fields of San Leandro, CA; Marcus Fields of Atlanta, GA; and Patty Fitch of San Leandro, CA; She also leaves behind her last living aunt; Grace Banks of San Pablo, CA and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends.
