At the age of 17, Salvador immigrated to the U.S. making Oakland, CA his home. Salvador met his wife in San Francisco, CA in 1982. In 1983 they welcomed their first daughter Rocio (Rosi), followed by their son Salvador (Jr.) in 1985, then Daniel (Danny) in 1989 and in 1994 Gabriela (Gaby) completed the family of 6. Salvador's love for Futbol Soccer and his Son Jr's interest in the sport lead to him gaining one of his most popular and beloved nicknames "Coach". Juventus being his favorite italian team became the name of his youth teams. He coached Girls and Boys from 8-18 years old, including his son Jr., his son Danny and his daughter Gaby. Salvador could be found playing on Sunday's with his buddies on the "Papi's" league, eating at his two favorite restaurants Calafia & Huarache Azteca, watching his beloved Chivas and Oakland Raiders, listening to his favorite music Luis Miguel, Cumbias, Sonideros, Los Trios or Sonora Santanera and sitting on his porch people watching while enjoying a cigarette. However nothing gave him more joy than to be surrounded by his grandkids. Going to Mel's with his grandkids was their thing and they all loved it so much Salvador is survived by his wife Rocio; children, Rosi (husband Jose), Danny (wife Jackie) and Gaby (fiancé Gabriel); grandchildren, Daisy, Melina, Devin, Adrian, Lili, Sebastian and Alexis.
