Ruby Latigue's Obituary
Ruby Alfred Latigue’s life began February 28th 1927 in Morrow, Louisiana and she went home to be with the Lord, August 18th, 2019 at the age of 92. She was the daughter of Dave Alfred and Severine Carmon-Alfred. Ruby loved the Lord and was a faithful member with The Church of Christ Emeryville for many years.
Ruby attended Ville Platte High School where she graduated Valedictorian. She also received an Associate’s Degree from Peralta Colleges.
In 1943 she married Le Roy Latigue, they later decided to relocate to Oakland, California from this union they had 10 children. She worked as an Assistant Teacher at St. Bernard School as well as worked at A Safe Place Non-Profit.
Ruby was a passionate believer of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Sunday mornings you could hear her beautiful voice singing hymns unto the Lord at church. Some of the things she loved to do were crocheting, gardening as well as hosting loved ones during the holidays.
Ruby is survived by her children: Le Roy, Dianna, David, Gary, Debra, Janet, Vincent, Richard and Greig. Her grandchildren: Mondo, Teresa, Tonya, Tonisha, Roderick Jr., Skyler, Dominic, Candace, Michael, Anthony, Brian, Sheila, Marsena, Nia, Aasia, Vincent Rasheed, Ariel and Victoria. A host of Great Grand Children. Her brother and sisters: Hubert, Pearl, Anna Marie and best friend Octavia Edgerly.
Her son Yves Stephen, grandson Damon Moore, brother Raymond, sister Leanna, and good friend Valerie Walker preceded her in death.
If you ever had the pleasure to meet Ruby Latigue, you’d know she was one of the sweetest and graceful ladies ever. She had the most beautiful smile, spoke kind and uplifting words and graciously received both family and friends with open arms, no one was a stranger.
We will miss her dearly. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Funeral Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, Saturday, August 31st at 11:00a. Located at 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland CA 94611.
