Rose Eichner DuBois' Obituary
Rose Eichner DuBois born Rose Kathryn Sorensen on November 8, 1919 in Sanger, California to Danish immigrants Karsten & Kristine Sorensen. Adopted and lovingly raised by her Aunt Tillie and Uncle August Eichner. Rose died suddenly and quietly Friday, August 17, 2001 at her home in Petaluma at the age of 81. She joins her twin sister Ruby May Noleroth, and her brother Seabert Carsten Sarrensen who preceded her in death.Rose grew up in Oakland where she attended school, married and raised her family. She worked as a PBX operator for the telephone company during WWII and continued working until retirement.Rose loved playing bingo, reading, visiting family, music and baseball. In her youth, she was an avid bowler and golfer. In life, she was always determined, fascinated by new experiences, and intrigued by possibilities. She was an active member in Petaluma’s Danish Sisterhood #126 and was past president of Native Daughters of the Golden West Walnut Creek Chapter. She leaves behind daughter Janet & her husband Greg, son Jack and his wife Bonnie, grandchildren Eric & Amy, Kim & Homer, Kristen, Jennifer & Jason, and Scott. Great-grandchildren Alex, Rebecca Gene, Justin, and Tyler. Loving niece Nancy, nephew Craig and brother-in-law Gordon. In addition, of course, her loving partner in crime Lulu the cat, along with many loving family and friends. All of us will greatly miss her presence in our lives.Contributions may be made to the Diabetes Society of Sonoma County in memory of Rose DuBois, at 2777 Cleveland Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95401. A Memorial Service will be held at Sunrise Assisted Care in Petaluma on Sunday,August 26th at 3pm.
