With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Romona Davis, departed this life at the age of 95 on December 18, 2024. Romona was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of life of enjoyment.
Romona was born on March 5, 1929 in Parkersburg West Virginia from the union of William A. McClung and Petra I McClung. Early in life, Romona met and married Jesse H Davis having four children. As a grandmother, and great grandmother, she cherished watching her family grow by each new generation.
Romona was preceded in death by parents William and Petra McClung, her step-mother Cynthia Hayes McClung “MOM”, her husband Jesse H. Davis and eleven siblings Marian Hunter, Petra L Ross “Patty”, Edith Hamilton, Helena Avery, Julia Ann Swan, Dominga E. McClung, Delores McClung, “Deedee”, Margaret Haynes “Sadie”, Joseph R Haynes, and Nellie Garner.

She leaves behind a large loving family, including her surviving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will forever cherish her memory. Romona is survived by her children William “Ronnie” Davis his wife Shirley, Ellen Davis, Dale Davis his wife Jannette and Finita Davis. Grandchildren Marlon Norris, William Davis Jr, Tiant Davis, Romon Davis Pinkney, Robecca Davis Pinkney, Patanisha Davis Pierson, Kalen Davis, Raymond Williams, Rachelle Broughton, Reginald Williams, Ramon Williams, Jannette Davis, Janai Davis, great grandchildren, Rovijon Davis, Zoe” Davis, Saige Davis, Joliese Davis Pinkney, Romon Davis Pinkney Jr, Rojoniese Davis Pinkney, MalachiDavis Pinkney, Gavon Taylor, Justice Jenkins, Aiden Jenkins, Sean Pierson, Kayla Pierson, Christian Williams, Caelen Williams, Reginald Williams Jr, Zach Williams, Rhoderick Broughton III, Rhoss Broughton, Roman Williams Jr, Kenzoe Cornish, Kiyomi Cornish, Jaden Ward, Semaj’e Jackson
Romona Davis will always be remembered for her strength, understanding, and kindness in helping raise a number of neighborhood children as part of her one family. She devoted her life to her family and friends. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
May she rest in peace, knowing the impact she had on this world and her family.
