Mary Harper
Uncle Bob is an icon in the memory book of my life growing up in the Bay Area. My mom (Pearl's younger sister) would have Uncle Bob and Aunt Pearl for Christmas and Thanksgiving almost every year as long as I can remember as a kid, and throughout most of my adult life as well. As a little kid, I loved going to their home as well on occasion. Pearl mad the best rolls and other delicacies, and their big black standard poodle was a lot of fun. Bob and Pearl were great hosts. I remember how he and Pearl loved to travel. Bob was always eager to share his slides from the latest trip to Europe or wherever the latest adventure was. He would narrate the slides and we'd gather around in the living room. Bob was always kind and dependable and I remember how much love and care he had for my Aunt Pearl up until she passed away. Bob continued to visit on holidays most of the time after Pearl passed on so it will be a sad missing spot at the table at the next family Thanksgiving and Christmas at my mom's house. Bob was a good man and will be missed by me. In loving memory,Mary (his niece in San Diego)
