Robert Denney's Obituary
Robert Durwood Denney, a longtime resident of Oakland, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 17, 2019. He was born in Dallas, Texas and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory before retiring in 1989. He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, to whom he was married for 54 years. Bob was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from June 1943 to October 1945 as a B-17 bomber pilot. He enjoyed flying, sailing, and golfing in his spare time. The son of the late Buford and Julia Denney, he is survived by his children, Karen Mulkey, Janice Price, and Richard Denney.
