Robert FitzGerald Creighton's Obituary
Robert FitzGerald Creighton peacefully passed on September 9th of this year, one month short of celebrating his 69th birthday.
Bob would have told anyone that the high point in his life was meeting and marrying Theresa (Terry) Hum, his wife of 45 years. He was born and raised in San Francisco, attending catholic schools there and after a brief stint at Cal, was drafted into the Army and served in SE Asia during the Vietnam War, returning as a decorated veteran. Bob and Terry then moved to the East Bay where Bob became a well-respected general contractor.
A car buff with his best friend Chris, Bob gave Terry many adventures, some involving car trips but more recently vacations on the big island of Hawaii, where they planned to retire.
Bob was also a member of Eagles Aerie #1076, where a Celebration of Life will be hosted on October 24th, in Alameda.
A smart, witty and conversational man with a great heart for other people, Bob will be missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Edna Hum, Anthony and Connie Wong, his Godson James S. Maguire, his cousins throughout the Bay Area and as far away as the Cayman Islands, and the countless friends he has touched throughout
his life and whose lives he has changed in the most beautiful ways every day they knew him.
Bob was a believer in finding the best ways to enjoy our time here and a favorite saying taken from a close friend of his was “there are only so many summers left” ….so, Bob, live what’s next for you like the best summer you have ever had.
