Robert Earl Agustin Dawson "Yvng Rob"'s Obituary
Robert Earl Agustin Dawson joined the Lord Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his home in Oakland, California. He was 21 years old. This has left family and friends without words, with many tears and with countless memories.
Robert was born on January 24,1998 at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, California to his parents, Norma Parra Dawson and Justin Dawson. Robert was the fourth of six children. His family will deeply miss his witty humor, and infectious smile.
Robert was unstoppable. He always approached his struggles, with courage, humor, and compassion. Robert was known for his love of Animals. He had many cats and dogs that he cared for throughout his life. Robert leaves behind his beloved dog, Toto, which he took everywhere. He also volunteered at SPCA and will be remembered for his kindness toward animals, and humans alike.
Robert also loved to eat, which he did at every chance he could. He enjoyed cooking and was known for his BBQ. Robert enjoyed feeding his friends and family. He was also brilliant with technology, and computers. Robert was a talented musician, AKA Yvng Rob. Robert was known for his musical creativity, and love of Hello Kitty. He authored comic books, and songs as Yvng Rob. He had great determination, and strength. He believed in the power of Art. The community of “the Shop”, “53rd”, and “1010 Pine” will miss his big heart, stage presence, and his generous spirit. YVNG ROB FOREVER!
Not only was Robert a beloved son and brother, but he was also an adored grandson, great-grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Margarita Fedelin and Carlos Parra, Great Grandfather Robert Henry Dawson, Grandparents, Gloria and Humberto Parra Parez, and Grandfather Robert Earl Dawson.
He leaves behind; Parents Norma, and Justin Dawson; siblings, Rashauna Dawson of Seattle, Washington, Jewell Young, (wife Anna, daughter Delila) of Flagstaff, Arizona, Joseph Villavicencio, Joshua Dawson, and Carlos Parra Dawson of Oakland, California; Godparents Tia Patricia and Tio Roberto Parra Pacheco and their children (Julian, David, Clara), Tia Alma and Tio Francisco Rico and their children (Tania, Alberto, Carla), Aunt Maya Scott Martin, his Great Aunt Cheryl Dawson, Grandmother Karen and “Scotty” Scott, and many other members of his family. The elders, Robert’s Great Grandmothers, Earlene Hagler, age 93, and Margaretta Hamemerquist “Grammy”, age 96, both adored Robert.
Rest in Peace, Robert. We will always love you and keep you in our hearts.
The Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home and Columbarium, 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA, Thursday, September 26th at 6pm-9pm. The Vigil will begin at 6pm. All are welcome.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11am St. Columba’s Catholic Church, 6401 San Pablo Ave, Oakland, CA. All are welcome.
Burial to follow services at Sunset View Cemetery, 101 Colusa Ave, El Cerrito, CA.
