Condolences to Mr. Sala's family, we were not acquainted but I feel I knew him in some sense from his wonderful work; indeed he remains one of my all-time favourite cartoonists and his books take up a large chunk of my shelves! Mad Night, The Chuckilng Whatsit, Peculiar, Delphine...his line work absolutely sang with human life and the joy of creation and his luminous watercolours shone from the page. A master story-teller, his work will only grow in stature through the years!
