Richard Beauford Roberts' Obituary
Richard B. Roberts died of pneumonia on December 17, 2011 in Oakland, CA. He was born in San Francisco on June 5, 1027; he graduated from Lowell High School in 1944 and immediately joined the Navy, serving in the Pacific on the USS Vincennes (CL-64). He attended UC Berkeley, majoring in Forestry, and played tackle for the Bears. He chose to go into the life insurance business where he obtained his CLU designation. He worked for various large insurance companies until 2006, when he suffered a stroke. He was married to Jeanne F. Roberts, nee Shaw 1948-1978 and to Joanna L. Roberts, nee Forbes, from 1979, when he moved from San Francisco to Oakland, CA. He is survived by them and by his only child, Stephen F. Roberts of Pollack Pines, CA. At Richard's request, there will be no formal memorial service.
