Renée Lori Baughman was born in Oakland, California, on June 12, 1961, to Marion & Gloria Baughman. She was the first child of a family of three daughters. Renée moved to Castro Valley when she was three years old. Renée graduated from San Leandro High School. Renée’s first job was at PHOTOMAT in Castro Valley Village, and then she worked at Baron Data in San Leandro. She graduated from Court Reporter School and became a certified Court Reporter.
Renée was a very creative and intelligent woman. She enjoyed playing the organ and frequently played it in the Fairyland Chapel in her youth. She was an excellent typist and could type 120 WPM. Renée was also creative in her Wood Shop Class, a Song Girl, and was an honor student throughout her high school years.
Renée had a strong relationship with her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Trinity Church in Oakland, which her grandfather, Dr. Cecil J. Lowry, founded.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her two sisters, Debra Carruth, Kimberly Neufeld, three nephews, Thomas Neufeld, Christopher Carruth, Matthew Neufeld, two nieces Rachel Carruth, Christy Neufeld, two aunts Carolyn Vasconcellos, Shirley Foreman, and her close companion, Peter Agnew. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes Oakland, 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, California 94611. To ensure the health and safety of our community, we are following all guidelines set by local, state and CDC officials. If you are planning on attending a service, please contact the funeral home in advance, so that we can plan accordingly.
