Raymond Leo Lindsay Jr.'s Obituary
In Loving Memory of
Raymond Leo Lindsay Jr.
Raymond was born on January 27, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama to his loving Father, Raymond Leo Lindsay Sr. who passed on October 22, 2016 and Precious Mother, Bertha Leen Burns Lindsay who remained in his life until he departed on October 31, 2024.
At the age of 7, Raymond and his immediate family relocated to Berkeley, California and then to Richmond, California. After graduating from El Cerrito High School, he attended Contra Costa College and achieved an associate degree and become a Licensed Electrician. He met and married the love of his life, Vivian Scott on June 18, 1988. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and landlord.
Raymond worked at Chevron Corporation as an electrician prior to an early retirement, after which he started working with his father as an Entrepreneur. He took his talents as an electrician and self-proclaimed MacGyver to begin his lifelong dream as a property manager in Berkeley where he maintained the Lindsay & Lindsay rental properties alongside his father and son, building upon the legacy started by the Lindsay family in Birmingham, Alabama.
Raymond was always there for his family; never missing a Birthday, Anniversary, Reunion or any Family gathering. Raymond and Vivian often hosted family gatherings. Their home was always welcoming and full of laughter, love, and good food.
Recently, Raymond and Vivian were able to enjoy time traveling together, from Northern California to Colombia and his home state of Alabama. Raymond enjoyed camping, cars and motorcycles, fixing things, sports, a good cigar paired with a cold beer, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Lindsay; their children Avonti Lindsay, Jennifer (Gabriel) Sanchez and Shelby Lindsay; grandchildren, Te’Vion Lindsay, Levi Raymond and Naomi Sanchez, and Rico Raymond Reese; his mother, Bertha Lindsay; his uncle, Theodore Burns; his sister, Rosalind (Carl) Holland; nephew, Carl Holland III. He leaves behind many beloved cousins in California, Alabama, Michigan, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Georgia.
Raymond was a kind and compassionate soul who always put the needs of others before his own. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He touched many lives with love and PEACE.
