R. Earl Selby's Obituary
R. Earl Selby, 65, passed away in Alameda, CA on November 4, 2018.
He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on March 31, 1953. He graduated from Bay City Central High School, received a Political Science Degree from Morehouse College and a Law Degree from the University of Michigan.
He was married to Carol Wilton Selby on June 14, 1975. He and his wife Carol lived in Michigan for many years and recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area.
R. Earl Selby worked in the law profession for 40+ years and was a partner of Baker & Selby Law Firm.
He was a member of Delta College Board of Trustees, Bethel A.M.E. Church Trustee Board, Men of Bethel and Courtesy Committee.
He had a passion for mentoring youth, advocating for education, fellowship, practicing law and watching University of Michigan football.
He was survived by his children, Matthew and Jamila Selby; his wife, Carol W. Selby; his brother, George Selby (Julie); his sisters, Myra Selby (Bruce) and Karen Selby; his mother, Archie M. Selby and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and close friends.
Mr. Selby will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Bethel AME Church (Saginaw, MI) on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 am, preceded by a family hour from 9:00 am -11:00 am.
