Paul Angelo Jones' Obituary
Paul Angelo Jones was born on the 1st of October 1946 to Maxine Jones and Ellis Jackson in Merced, California. Paul moved from Merced with his mother and sister to San Francisco, California 1951, where he received his formal education at Raphael Well Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, and Polytechnic High where he joined the football and track teams. He was later inducted into the bay are High School Hall of Fame.
In 1964 after high school Paul enlisted into the army where he served overseas in Germany and Korea. He received an honorable discharge as a sergeant E5(t). After Paul’s discharge he returned to San Francisco where his first child was born, a beautiful baby girl, Lawan.
From a earlier period and previous marriage while still living in San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (MUNI). He began his career with MUNI as a Transit Operation and retired as a Muni Inspector.
Paul later met and married the love of his life Deborah on June 5, 2003. God allowed them to share elven wonderful years of marriage and they renewed their vows on Saturday June 7, 2014. What joy it brought to Paul.
Paul loved traveling. He always talked about how he traveled the world during his military years. Every chance he got he took his lovely wife on vacation to Paris, Jamaica 3X’s & Mexico. He just enjoyed life.
Paul was a chef in his own right — he loved to cook. He was not just a chef he was a master chef. He made sure every day that dinner was cooked and ready when Deborah were married, and he was baptized and at Center Hope Community Church where he served as a deacon and usher until his passing.
W cannot forget how concerned he was about young men at risk. Paul was the Founder and President od The Right Choices Ministry ein 46-07000384, where he labored with diligence,, commitment, and loved making changes in the community. In 2012 God blessed him to receive a 501 (c) Status for the Ministry. To God be the glory.
Preceding him in death loving mother Maxine Wilson, his cousin/brother Wallace Jackson, and cousins John & Philip Rico.
Paul is survived by his dedicated wife Deborah Jones of Fairfield, CA, his daughter Lawan Jones of Oakland, CA., sons: Nobia and Paul II both of San Francisco, CA., six grandchildren: Daesean, Leandrea Jones, Kimani’ Kent, Nobia Jr, and Christopher, Angelina, and one great grandchild Donte’ Gordon, sister Shelia Bell (George), aunts: Mother Iirma Siu of Brentwood, CA., Rev Odessa Moore of Inglewood, CA., close cousins: Evangelist Florence Jones and Sis. Brenda Borden, nephew Brandon Jones; extended family: daughters Renona, Aisha, Jamila, sons Antoine, Ahmed, Kamal, Fadil, grandchildren Ahmed Jr., Antoine Jr., Phillip, Jelani, Kamal Jr., Kailyah, Aaron, Ij’Nanaya, Rashaad, Kai, William, Fadil Jr, Lalah, Kiyora, Nariyah, Amari and father in-law Deacon William Goring, mother in-law Martha Goring, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Tony and Marve, Guy and Beverly, Reno, Janet and Al, and Henry and Deborah Celestine.
