Mr . Tinloy was my Careers teacher at Bret Harte Jr High Class of 1983. One of my favorite teachers. He truly cared about his students. His energy was unmatched as was his smile. Sending my heartfelt prayers to the family. Know that your loved one ( Mr.Tinloy) impacted this African American kid from East Oakland in a very powerful positive way .

So sorry to hear about Pat. I played softball with him in the mid "70's thru the 90's, enjoyed with him his love of baseball and baseball cards, and his love of life. Always had a great smile and laugh for you. He was a good person and a great friend. I will miss him.
Awww. Mr Tinloy was a pillar in the community. He made me enjoy jr high at Bret Harte and gave me my first lesson on money management. All the projects we did and assignments still carry a special place in my heart! My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. U will be missed
So saddened to hear of Mr. Tinloy’s passing. I babysat his kids and his Careers class at Bret Harte Junior High was the best - who didn’t love working at the 7-11 store! He was a true motivator and believed in his students. I will never forget the amazing Hawaii trip we went on in December of ‘89! He was truly the best and we are all the better for having been taught by him. My condolences to the family and all of us who were lucky to have had his guidance. 💙🤍
