Pansy Lim Chan's Obituary
Pansy Lim Chan passed away peaceably on November 24th, 2017 at 10:45 PM at the age of 93. She was born and raised in San Francisco where she attended Francisco Jr. High School, the High School of Commerce, graduated from the Chinese language school of Hip Wo, received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of California-Berkeley, School of Public Health, Medical Technology.
She was married August 28th, 1948 to Norman Ping Chan at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. Pansy worked as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Richmond, California for more than 24 years until her retirement in 1989. She and her husband assisted her father-in-law, Chan Bock Hing, with his various Hong Kong business ventures throughout the 50’s and 60’s including banking operations and hotel materials purchasing. She was the oldest in her family and the last to pass.
She is preceded in death by her husband Norman Ping Chan and is survived by her son Terrence Dexter Chan.
