Otto McQueen, age 79, of Oakland, California, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Otto lived a life defined by dedication, intellect, and a deep love for family and adventure.
A proud graduate of Saint Mary's High School, Otto pursued higher education at San Jose State University, where he earned both a master's degree and a Ph.D. in Engineering. His academic achievements reflected his commitment to excellence and innovation.
Otto built a meaningful career in the security industry, working with a wide variety of companies and earning the respect of colleagues across the field. Beyond his professional life, Otto was an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and cultures.
On May 20, 1994, Otto married Nini McQueen, his beloved partner and best friend. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
Otto is survived by his devoted wife, Nini McQueen; his son, Christopher McQueen; granddaughter, Naleiya McQueen; his sisters, Joyce Mathieu and Linda Miller; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.
A private service to honor Otto’s life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
He will be remembered for his wisdom, warmth, and the joy he brought to those around him.
