Otis Clinton Parker's Obituary
Otis Clinton Parker was born July 5, 1935, in Eagletown McCurtain, Oklahoma to John Wheeler Parker and Livator Workman Parker. He was the second of eight children. Otis passed away peacefully on October 27, 2014 in Hayward, Callifornia after a lengthy illness.
Otis lived most of his life in Callifornia. During his youth, Otis attended and graduated from Dunbar High School in Broken Bow, Oklahoma at age 16. After high school, Otis joined the U.S. Navy at age 17.
Otis was active in the Navy until 1956. He graduated from Merritt College in Oakland, California , where his studied Political Science and Theology.
Otis was employed as a pipefitter in the San Francisco Bay Naval Shipyard. He continued his carrer at Mare Island in Vallejo, California where he retired.
Otis was a passionate man who enjoyed reading the Bible, spending time laughing and talking with friends, and riding his bike. Otis was an avid pool player and is fondly known for his game of billiards. He was also well-know for his Shiny red “Volkswagen”.
Otis was extremely loving and proud of his three daughters, Lawan, Cheryl, and Alisa. In his spare time, he loved his visits with his mother, and spending time with his brother and sisters.
Otis was an active member at Easter Hill United Methodist Church in Richmond, California. His walk with Christ began as a young man in the church of his father in Oakland, California.
Otis was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gloriana Parker Henderson of Texas.
Otis is survived by 3 daughters Lawan Parker Harris (Darrell Harris), Cheryl Parker Jones, and Alisa Burton (Ivor Erskine), 5 grandchildren, Taylor Bond, Drew Harris, Devin Harris, Allyah Erskine, and Andrew Erskine, 1 great grandaughter, Maliyah Parker Howard, 6 sisters and 1 brother, Magalene Parker McNeal, Mattie Parker Jones, Dollye Parker Harmen, Ann Parker Kirton, Lilli Parker Bryant and Leroy Parker and many loving nieces , nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
