Norma Josephine Harrison's Obituary
Norma was born on August 7, 1927, and was a lifetime resident of Oakland, California. She attended Oakland Technical Highschool and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. For many years she worked for her alma mater and ultimately retired from the school of social welfare in 1992. Post retirement, Norma and her late husband, Eugene, enjoyed many cruise expeditions around the world and relaxing at a local Mendocino resort. Eugene passed away in 2007 and since, Norma enjoyed the championship of many family members and friends, remained active with volunteer organizations, and was an avid bridge and cribbage player. She was a self-proclaimed chocaholic and loved corralling dining companions to try different cuisines.
Norma is survived by her two sons, Paul the oldest who is married to Vicky; Paul is the stepfather to Vicky’s two children, Jennifer and Steven and they in turn each have two children. Mark is the youngest child who is in a long term committed relationship with Jan. She is also survived by brother and sister-in-law Frank and Patricia Duyanovich, nieces Linda and Nancy, nephew Mathew and many beloved extended family members.
Norma passed away on May 23, 2022, after a mercifully very brief hospital stay. She lived a long and full life and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends and will live on in our memories.
