Nettie Eleby Sims' Obituary
Nettie Eleby Sims, age 88 of Oakland, California, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born in Bethune, South Carolina on June 17, 1929. Nettie Eleby Sims graduated from Dwight Morrow High School and received a BS in Nursing and a MS in Clinical Counseling from TCU, California Sate University, as well as a PHD in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
She was married to Nathaniel Sims on March 25, 1960.
Nettie had a career in Nursing and Clinical Counseling for William Beaumont Army Hospital in El Paso, Texas and was a Clinical Nurse/Psychologist in Alameda County, Oakland, California. She was a member of the Church By The Side of the Road in Berkeley, California. Nettie had a passion for line dancing, playing bridge, volunteering for her church and civic positions like Girl Scout Troup Leader & Coordinator of the Roadside Educational and Counseling Center.
She is survived by her cherished daughter, Natalie Cheryl Sims. She will be missed but never forgotten.
A Memorial Service will be hled at 11:00 am on January 13, 2018 at Church By The Side of the Road, 2108 Russell St, Berkeley, CA 94705.
