Nathan Cabreana's Obituary
Nathan Cabreana’s adventure in life began in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He then moved to the Madison, Wisconsin area where he graduated from Stoughton Area High School. It was there, Nathan bought his first bike, and began riding it in a way no mother ever wants to see. Nathan began to work with renown furniture sculpture Henry Royer which fed his desire to use his creativity in many artistic ways. It was at this time Nathan’s interest in music began. . From Wisconsin, Nathan’s interests took him to Cabo San Lucas where he worked as an outdoor guide and Eugene, Oregon where he worked in metals. Eventually, Nathan landed in the San Francisco Bay Area where he began creating art in the Boxshop and several pieces of his work ending up in area galleries. He also continued to pursue his artistic passions in biking and music which lead to the creation of the Hucklebery Mountain Bike frame, and the creation of Amethyst, his own music label. Nathan’s other passions included a love for his animals, Poni and Tea, camping, hiking, gardening, and driving his Can Am.
Nathan passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 7th in Oakland, California. In the months leading up to his death, Nathan suffered from PTSD which lead him into periods of depression and anxiety, and as much as he loved his family and his SF community of fellow artists and friends it became unbearable. Even though he took his life, please remember Nathan for the strong and loving person he was, we know he is now at peace without pain.
Nathan is survived by his loving family, mother Susan (Timothy) Stolts, Madison, WI, father Julian (Patricia) Cabreana, Chicago, IL, brothers Cory (Sharon) Stolts, Cody Stolts. Nieces Jadyn Stolts, Jenni Stolts. Grandparents Keith Holden, Judith Cabreana, Clyde (Debbie) Cabreana and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
