Natale Romano's Obituary
The family is saddened by the loss of our dear relative Natale Romano.
He died Feb 2nd 2017 at the beautiful age of 88. He leaves behind his ex-wife, sister, daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins from around the world.
Born in the Bronx NYC to his parents Salvatore Romano and Maria Antonia Mancuso. He grew up in Santa Lucia del Mela, a beautiful town in the mountains of Sicily, Italy after the family returned there when his mother became too ill to care for her young children.
After the death of his mother he returned to the Bronx as a teenager to be with his father who was a shoemaker at the time. When he joined the army he was stationed in Trieste,Italy at the United Nations Headquarters because he was fluent in Italian. When he was honorably discharged he resettled in NYC where he worked in the garment industry until his retirement.
Despite the many tragic events of his life he built and maintained personal relationships with family, friends and neighbors.
His last days were in California, where he was lovingly cared for until his death.
He was cremated on Friday Feb 17th, 2017 and his ashes will be scattered at sea off the Marin County Coast.
According to wishes there will be no funeral or memorial.
