Muriel Lambly Sundell's Obituary
Muriel Sundell, died in Hayward on June 21, 2004. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Donald, and brothers Jim Lambly, Ralph Lambly and Neil Lambly. She is survived by sisters-in-law Marcella Lambly of San Leandro and Alice Halloran of Santa Rosa, and brother-in-law Tom Halloran of Santa Rosa and many nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and grand nephews.She was born July 19, 1926 in Alameda and was a resident of Pleasanton for 25 years.She retired from the State of California, Department of Employment, after 27 years of service. She was proud of her career successes as one of the first women promoted to management. She was a graduate of Hayward High School and Cal Berkeley where she received her bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare in 1957. She enjoyed golf and was a member of Castlewood Country Club, chairing events and serving as Captain of the 18 hole ladies golf group. She enjoyed many vacations traveling all over the world with her husband, and was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.She will be missed greatly by all her family.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 26th at 3 p.m., at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California, 2065 West El Camino Real, Suite C, Mountain View, CA 94040.
