Miranda Star Robles-Tuttle's Obituary
Miranda Star Robles-Tuttle became a real shining star on the early evening of July 21st, 2019. She is a precious daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend to all. She touched the lives of many and was loved by everyone around her.
At the age of five she already knew what she wanted to do. She started attending a Hula Summer Camp which she loved and continued to dance with her Hula Sisters as much as she could until last year. At the age of eight, she became obsessed with Doctor Who and created her first cosplay to wear at her first ever convention in Los Angeles. It opened up a whole new world for her to create her own unique designs on how she envisioned the various characters within the fandoms she loved and felt connected to. This led her to design, submit, and win a junior designer competition for the Her Universe Fashion Show hosted at San Diego Comic Con last year in 2018. Her design inspired other junior designers to compete this year where she was able to make one last trip to San Diego to be a part of the community she adored. She accomplished more in her sixteen years than most of us will in our lifetime with guidance and support from her family.
She was fierce, determined, and undaunted when it came to all of the things she had to endure in the last five and a half years. Her strong will and unwavering resolve has been inspirational to all who knew her and she had a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms. Cancer definitely had a worthy adversary in our Star. Miranda fought and won several times and each time we celebrated her victory. Her fighting spirit will continue to inspire everyone who knew her, and her family and friends will resume her fight for other children and continue her legacy.
She lives on in the hearts of her brother, Emerson, mother Arlene, and father Mike, maternal grandparents, Bert and Priscilla, paternal grandparents, Caroll and Muriel, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is now with her beloved family members who preceded her into the heavenly sky.
“‘Dress as if you were to die that day.’ I don’t know where I heard this, but I always liked this quote. Granted I have never taken the advice myself to that extent, but I think it has a lot of meaning behind it. Live in the moment and that’s what I am trying to do.” – Miranda, February 7, 2019
