Mildred Louise Correia's Obituary
Mildred Louise Correia passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024 in Walnut Creek, California at the age of 93. She was born in Oakland, California on January 18, 1931 and lived in Oakland until the last few years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter Correia, her cherished parents Joseph and Rose Rettagliata and her dear brother and sister-in-law Edward and Arlene Rettagliata and her brother-in-law John Correia. Mildred will be missed by her loving daughter Sharon Correia and her loving son Steven Correia and his wife Yvonne Correia. She is also survived by her dear two nieces and her nephew as well as many grand nieces and nephews. Millie met Walt at Marchant Calculating Machine Company where she worked as a secretary. She also worked as a legal secretary and at Bishop O’Dowd High School. Millie eagerly participated in supporting her children’s athletic and school activities by volunteering. Millie was a woman of great faith who loved her family, Italian heritage, cooking family dinners, gardening, sewing, dancing and the family’s beloved dogs. She will forever be in our hearts.
Friends are invited to a Rosary and Vigil on Thursday 5/23/2024 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland at 7:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated on Friday 5/24/2024 at 10:00 am at Divine Mercy Parish (St. Lawrence O’Toole Church), 3725 High Street, Oakland with entombment immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oakland.
