Michele Porsche Johnson's Obituary
Michele Porsche Johnson was born on November 8, 1979 in Oakland, CA to Charles and Beverly Johnson. Michele attended John F. Kennedy High School in Fremont, CA where she graduated in 1997. After high school Michele enrolled in Ohlone College where she received an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts in 2000. She continued to further her education by attending the University of Phoenix where she received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Communication in 2009.
Michele was blessed with a beautiful son, Jeramyah Johnson Hodrick who was truly her pride and joy. Additionally Michele adored her family especially her two nieces Elia and Nathalia Johnson Martinez who she devoted her time to ensure they as well as jeramyah maintain their extra curriculum activities.
Michele (affectionately known as Cheli,) loved sports and watching football was one of her favorite thing to do. But her true passion was softball. Not only did she play softball for the Fremont Girl Softball League, Kennedy High and Collegiate Softball for Ohlone College, Michele was the Sports Editor, for Kennedy High and went on to become a Freelance Sport journalist for the Fremont Argus Newspaper, covering High School and College Baseball/Softball. After College Michele became a Coach for her son Baseball team as well as her niece’s Softball teams with Pittsburg National Little League, and later became a member of the Executive Board with addition duties as Player Agent, Information Officer, and Coaching Coordinator.
Michele was not only involved in sport she volunteered for several organization including Wells Fargo Team Member Network Black/ African American ConnectionBay Area where she served as an Executive Board Member fulfilling the duties of Technology and Website Chairperson. She was also Co- Chairperson for committee for events such as Black History and Juneteenth Celebration. Member for the
Oakland Branch of the NAACP serving on the Communication Committee and over the years work with the Democratic Club on the Get Out the Vote Campaign.
Michele was a brilliant soul gone to soon. Those who know Michele talk about her smile and her love and passion for kids. When Michele found out she had cancer she took the fight one day at a time with that same vibrant smile and continue to show passion and love while supporting her son Jeramyah, nieces Elia and Nathalia and what she call “her kids” the softball and baseball players of Pittsburg Little League.
Michele passed away on Monday, January 20,2014 at her home in Pittsburg, CA.
She leaves to celebrate her home going her loving parents Charles johnson Sr. and
Beverly johnson her son, Jeramyah Johnson Hodrick, her sister, Charassa Johnson,
her brother ,Charles Johnson, Jr., her nieces, Elia Martinez and Nathalia Martinez. A
host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her life-long friend Randisha Richardson and
many close friends that was a special part of her life.
