Our son, George Jr., was one of his best friends. Michael went on a trip with our family as a teenager to ride 3 steam trains in Arizona, New Mexico & Colorado. We also visited Carlsbad Caverns on that 10 day trip. He started calling me 'mom' and hung around our house with George for many years, and lived with us at one point. I was always glad to see him and he was always willing to help with whatever was needed. We will miss him very much.With much sadness,Myra & George Downs
I can not even imagine the pain your family must be feeling. Losing a loved one is painful. Even Jesus gave way to tears when Lazarus died (John 11:35). The death of a young person is no doubt the most difficult type of grief to deal with. You may be struggling with where to find comfort. 2 Corinthians confirms we can turn to God for this comfort for he gives us power beyond what is normal so that we can cope. He also promises that the dead will be redeemed from the grave (Hosea 13:14, Isaiah 26:19) and that death will be no more (Rev 21: 3, 4).
