Meliki Woods

Aunty Ki was a loving, generous woman who touched many lives. Her husband and children were her pride and joy. She was a God fearing woman who loved everyone especially her family. Family gatherings at her house were always big. She was a gracious hostess and I loved her collard greens and cornbread! I will always remember how much she loved her children. Her dearest Christopher and her darling Emma. She would take Chris lunch while he worked at the hospital and she would participate in as much as she could at Emma's school. She was always fundraising for Emma! haha I love you so much Ki!! Thank you for your example of being a strong, educated, loving woman. Thank you for teaching me by example how to be a better mother. Thank you for your generous heart and for always helping our family. The only solace that I have is that you aren't suffering anymore and that families are forever and I will see you again someday.Love you always,Rea

Hi: I attended Samoana High School with Meli from the 9th grade until we graduated in 1979. She was one of my best friends in High School. She was always happy, caring, loving and a great friend. We would go to her house at lunch time to check on her Mother and fix her lunch. She loved her Mother very much and I saw the relationship she had with her Mother. We kept in touch after High School when she left the island for College in the U.S. She offered me her contract which given by the American Samoa Government for her to return home to work for the Government. She was a very loyal and caring friend. She was like an older sister to me. Meli was one of my best friends that challenged me to study harder and to further my education by going off island to attend college. I've talked to other classmates and shared her memories. We cried and laughed about the old days, the High School years. You will be missed and loved always in our hearts, Meli. I, Sala, Lupe, Sandra and Frank all send our love. We will see you on the other side our beloved sister and friend.
