Some of my earliest and fondest memories are in the Eichler tract, Walnut Creek. The Teshima family lived directly behind our house, in a neighborhood of young families. I always felt every child was welcome in every house, the parents were all very friendly to one another, and we all pretty much had good fun. The Teshima's were very much a part of life in our small (25 houses then) subdivision, and we kids all rode the bus together to Walnut Acres Elementary. If I dug through the old photo albums, I could probably find pictures of Donna at birthday parties and the bus stop.Fast forward to the late 1970's, and didn't Mrs. Teshima arrive as a visiting nurse to see my grandmother, suffering some depression about being in her '90's and very lonely with husband and old friends gone. I happened to be there one day when she was visiting, and we had a great time sharing memories and catching up. I remember her as so kind and cheerful, gracious, generous and sweet, both to me as a young child and with my granny. I hope she was given the gift of an easy passing following a life well lived. She loved her family so much, how she must have hated to leave you.Your old neighbor on San Carlos,Candy Hildebrand McCorkell
