Mary Elizabeth Humphreys Wilson's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Humphreys Wilson was born November 22, 1931 in San Francisco, California. Her parents were Charles and Hannah Humphreys who immigrated from Wales. Mary’s first language was Welsh. She participated in annual Welsh Festivals called Esteddfods where she competed in reciting poetry and singing which was her passion. She graduated from UC Berkeley and married Kenneth Wilson. They had two daughters Anne Ellen and Charlotte Claire. Mary received her Masters Degree in Special Education from SFSU and taught emotionally disturbed boys at Lincoln Child’s Center in Oakland. She sang in the church choir at St Johns Episcopal Church and for the Oakland Symphony Chorus. Mary loved her family and her friends. She travelled all around the world and also loved singing, cooking, walking, and her precious Welsh Corgis. She had a rich, beautiful and fulfilling life. She was a smart, witty and classy lady. Mary is survived by her daughter Charlotte, grandchildren Nicholas, Anjuli, and Rachel and great-grandson Leonardo. Mary was predeceased by her daughter Anne who leaves grandchildren Ross,Emily,and Tom and great-grandchildren Ellie, Luke and Jackson. Mary was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed.
