Thank you for posting Marilyn's and Marty's passing in the SJMerc/News today, 24 Jan. As a long-time friend/classmate at SJSU and SUHS fellow IA teacher, Marty was a stalwart in the Department. Luncheons with school staff at Menlo Atherton, after San Carlos was closed, were enlivened Mondays when Marty showed up with a bucket full of his "weekend fishing/clamming work". Marty was an inspiring teacher. Breaking Bread" with Marty was always something I looked forward to in these later retirement years — a real Pisano! ( I even got in on a garage sale with Marty at Coach Park's home in Los Altos!) Thanks again for the write-up. I send my sympathy and condolences to the family in the loss of both your parents.Lynn Hunwick
The Torchio Family,It is with a heavy heart that I opened the envelope from Lisa a few minutes ago and learned of the passing of Marty and Marilyn. Although Marty and I developed a strong friendship and shared many memories at the Rockport Ranch in Mendocino County as members of the Wilderness Unlimited club, I also enjoyed the time on the phone talking to Marilyn, especially the last few years. Both were just great people. There are so many "Marty" stories it would be hard to stop once I started! What a wonderful obituary-a tribute to them both.God Speed,Wes Arvin
