Marjorie R. Arp's Obituary
Marjorie R. Arp entered into rest on Monday, 5/30 at the age of 91. She led a full and happy life. She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Martha M Busk, her brothers Rodney and John Busk, and her husbands, Roy G. Arp and Glen Montgomery. She is survived by her sister Alice Sergeant, brother James, three children, Nancy Neff, David Arp, and Ruth Sereni, their spouses Larry, Carol, and William, as well as her step daughters, Linda, Wanda, and Glenda Montgomery. She delighted in her 6 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren with two more on the way. She also leaves behind sisters and brothers in law, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews from far and wide.
Her interests and careers led her on a journey of making friends around the world. She worked at Folger’s Coffee in San Francisco, Tupperware (as #1 salesperson), McNess, Physical Therapist Assist., Executive Secretary for the Lion’s Club of Oakland, as well as a rental property Owner/Manager. During those years she joined many clubs and associations where she was usually not only an active member, but a leader. Some of these organizations are Lakeside Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, People to People, Lion’s Club Youth Exchange Program, Fukuoka Sister City Society, Daughters of the Nile, White Shrine of Jerusalem, PEO, Soroptimists, Int’l Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Apartment Owners Assoc., ….. and more.
In later years, she developed a keen interest in painting, and enjoyed the projects and solace of their country home where she visited with friends, and, hosted family reunions. Her greatest joy was to travel the world with her family and friends.
Private interment took place on 6/3/16. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 3:00 PM. at the Oakland Masonic Center, 3903 Broadway, Oakland, California.
