MARION LOUISE GATTI's Obituary
Marian Louise Passadore GattiWith a heavy but peaceful heart my mother, Marian embarked on her last trip with my father’s love and spirit in the early morning hours of the fifth of August at the age of 79.She was the surprise child of the late Jack and Regina Passadore after three children and seven years. Her parents immigrated from Genova Italy. She loved Italy and Temescal with a passion; her father was one of the founders of the Oakland Scavengers. She studied and sang opera in Milano for four years during her 20’s. Upon her return she met Raymond and they married in 1959. They found shared passions and worked hard to give the best to their family. In her 50’s she and 2 friends began an incredibly fun 20 year adventure in Ghirardelli Square with The Rocking Horse Shop and with her daughter’s Operetta. My parents were involved in many cultural and business organizations both in San Francisco and in the East Bay.In 2006 her cherished twin granddaughters entered into her life. A bonus granddaughter, Allison arrived via her father, John in 2004. Marian believed in education, diligence, watercolors, a good CPA, an even better legal council, Bruno Magli shoes, Johnny Mathis, and large eyeglasses. She was an intense and dramatic woman and yet humbly generous to her family of friends. She was strong in her convictions and friendships. My mother, even after my father’s death, continued to instill strength and confidence in others to succeed and achieve their goals. She was simply a sensitive woman who just wanted to be loved and to enjoy a good meal while wearing Max Mara and Loro Piana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Juliet, her beloved Raymond, and her dearest friend Doris. She is survived by her daughter Anne-Marie Regina(John), her Antonia Rae and Marianna Claire (the loves of her life), Norm, Jimmy, Louise, Marie, Al, and Randy (who were her family). She didn’t want to her leave her special children; they are the women and Dave of Herrick, Mark, Susan, Gene, Laura, Paola, Marco, and her Nano. She is survived by family here and in Italy. My mother was blessed with a coven of women who gave a wonderful quality of life for many years and to a team of physicians: Drs. Cooper, Tse, and Opperman-un’abbraccio to Diane, Eileen, Martha, and Mary.Donations in her honor may be made to the George Marks Children House, 2121 George Mark Lane, San Leandro, Ca 94578.
