Marilyn Loeppert Thurau, long time resident of Oakland, born Oct. 22, 1927, passed away on May 23, 2006 at the age of 78. Loving wife of John A. Thurau, mother of Bruce McLeod Thurau, Graid McLeod Thurau (Dana McLeod), and Marta McLeod Thurau (Angie Remington), grandmother of Caitlin and Ryan McLeod, and Maxwell Thurau. Sister of H. Verne Loeppert (Frances) Rockford, Il. Native of Chicago, Il. Founder and long-time owner of Summitteers Radiant Heat, Inc. former National Treasurer and California State Chaper President of Women Construction Owners and Executive, USA, active in SF Bay Area Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry and the Radiant Panel Association. Graduate of Evanston Township High School, Stephens College for Women, and Nothwestern University. Member of Alpha Omciron Pi national fraternity. Volunteered with Oakland Museum, Boy Scouts of America (Troop 202), Montclair School, and San Francisco Symphony Volunteer Council.
