When I visited my mom at KPACC, I met Marie. She was often asleep because she was in a lot of pain or resting. But she was a very caring and a beautiful person, who always smiled at me and remembered me and held my hand. She loved to put on her makeup and have her hair done by her niece, Karen. She had stacks of books, crossword puzzles and newspapers to occupy herself. We got to hear her life story, a very interesting one about her bringing relatives to California from Tennessee, her teaching, her husbands and boyfriend, etc. She was such a special person. She was always so gracious and caring. And she had a cute sense of humor, too.
