MARIE CATHERINE GLAIVE's Obituary
Marie Catherine Glaive 11/6/1913 – 8/31/2002, Passed away in her sleep at her home in El Cerrito. A lifelong resident of the East Bay, she is preceded in death by her husband Regis of Berkeley; her two brothers William and Jack O’Connell of Oakland; and her parents Thomas and Catherine O’Connell. She is survived by her daughter Mary Alice and her husband Robert Costa of El Cerrito; grandchildren Richard Costa of Fremont, Sherri and Husband Michael Cuffe of Benicia. She was a loving and devoted Great-Grandmother of Amanda Katherine, Allison Marie, Katherine Michelle, and Brian Anthony.She worked in Hink’s Department store in Berkeley from 1956 – 1985, and maintained contact with her many friends and co-workers. She lived from 1999 to 2002 at the El Cerrito Royale Retirement Center and leaves behind many wonderful friends.Visitations will be on Wednesday, September 4th from 4 – 8pm at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland. Services will be held at St. Jerome’s Church, El Cerrito on Thursday, September 5th, 10 am. Internment following the mass at St Joseph’s Cemetery, San Pablo.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s name to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
